Much to the delight and expectation of the Government and people of Anguilla and visitors, the island’s premier hotel, Four Seasons Resort and Residences, formally reopens on Friday, March 23, with a ribbon-cutting ceremony commencing at 9.00 am.
A Prep Rally, involving hotel’s employees and speakers, was arranged for Thursday afternoon, March 22, from 3.00-400 pm, to precede Friday’s reopening event.
The Starwood Capital-owned property, managed by Four Seasons, was closed on August 28, 2017, for the usual slow season break and was scheduled to reopen in October. Its reopening was however delayed due to the passage of Hurricane Irma on September 6 and the damage it caused to the island’s tourism infrastructure.
Four Seasons, Anguilla, is reopening under a new General Manager, Mr. Jose’ Adames, who is originally from New York City, but with family from the Dominica Republic. He joined Four Seasons in 1999 and served in top positions in New York, Dallas and Austin, Texas, and in Mexico City.
