The Anguilla Chamber of Commerce offers innovative and relevant business opportunities for its members. The second ACOCI event for the year was a workshop entitled ‘What Box” and was facilitated by Ife Badejo who is known as The Connector’s Connector. Ife Badejo is an Experiential Marketer, Mediapreneur, and World-Class Speaker.
“What Box” was an interactive strategy session with the goal of fostering innovative thinking and devising creative solutions to challenging problems. It was held on January 24th at La Vue Hotel. Twenty-four persons representing a wide range of businesses seized the opportunity to benefit from this workshop. Lily Moses, Administrative Assistant at Anguilla Chamber of Commerce, welcomed all attendees and commended participants for choosing to invest in their business in a challenging business climate. After an opening prayer the workshop was handed over to Ms. Ife Badejo.
Ms. Ife Badejo started the session with introductions and an icebreaker before jumping into the heart of the content. Her energy and passion for the subject matter were immediately apparent and participants were soon fully engaged. The day’s sessions were divided into three sections with the broad headings Connect, Challenge and Create. The day was designed to provide opportunities for individual reflection as well as group exercises. Group activities and plenary sessions were interactive, engaging and required participants to be fully involved and innovative. Activities included the Failure Challenge and Superhero. Ms. Badejo also shared strategy techniques from the Go Dominate Toolkit which could help to propel businesses toward limitless growth in 2018 and beyond. Other business concepts covered included the Business Model Evaluation, activities to identify best ways to co-create value and to use design thinking, and a brand loyalty exercise.
Some titbits that participants took away from the “What Box” workshop are
The importance of knowing and being clearly able to articulate your “Why.” Ife Badejo shared, “When you are confident of your “why”, you know what to say yes to and what to say no.”
She stressed on the importance of thinking global as she stated, “Operate location independent.”
Relationship building was another important strategy which could be used to propel businesses.
Ms. Badejo explained the importance of building systems in your business. She brought the point across by stating, “If you become a systems designer, you will be in business for a long time.”
She reminded participants that being consistent and constant are tried and true strategies for business success.
Ms. Badejo used examples from businesses in the room to demonstrate strategy concepts and business models. She encouraged and challenged persons to think differently about their businesses if they wanted to see limitless growth in 2018 and beyond. Looking forward, all attendees were given the opportunity to register for further strategy sessions with Ms. Badejo.
At the end of the eye-opening and motivating day, Ms. Badejo was given a rating of 9.5-10 by all participants. Ife Badejo made it clear at the beginning of the workshop that she prided herself on working hard to ensure that her sessions are not boring and bring value to participants. The high rating was evidence that participants were delighted by the day’s activities and the workshop met the expectations they shared at the beginning of the workshop.
Ms. Ife Badejo will be hosting Dominate 360 in June on St. Maarten. As Ms. Badejo would say, “Let’s Dominate Together” or “Go Dominate.” Contact Anguilla Chamber of Commerce for further information on this event.
The Anguilla Chamber of Commerce thanks all members who participated in January events and invites all members to stay tuned for further events.
