28-Solid waste collection zones_newAs part of the Government of Anguilla’s commitment to improving solid waste management the Environmental Health Unit advises that new household garbage bins are being deployed by:
Mr. Wayne Reid of Wastetech Ltd. – Zones 1 and 3
Mr. Kirthly Richardson of R. B. Development Ltd. – Zone 2
Mr. Cuthwin Webster of Webster Management Group Ltd. – Zone 4
You will receive sufficient bin capacity for the size of your household.
We ask that you do the following:
Sign for receipt of your bin, so that we know your house has been visited.
Follow the instructions given by your solid waste contractor with respect to what wastes can go in the bin: no bulky items; no dead animals; no business waste. These are NOT part of the residential collection services.
Clean and disinfect your bin regularly.
Your contractor will tell you the collection days and when and where to set out your bin.
Retrieve your bin from the roadside once it is emptied.
Quote the unique serial number on the bin for any enquiries; and in times of hurricane secure your bin.
Gradually, those community bins which are unsightly and defective will be taken out of service so that our environment will be improved.
Please do not litter these areas. Use your household bin.
You will also see a number of blue bins located around your zone very shortly. These bins are for the collection of glass bottles and jars ONLY. All members of the public, INCLUDING our business community, are permitted to use these bins for the disposal of GLASS BOTTLES AND JARS ONLY.
Any questions may be directed to the Authorized Officer for Solid Waste Management on 729 5886.
