All of the questions posed here online are all valid, but the one that caught my eye was the very last one. It asks, "why are we not grieved?" I think its because if it doesn't affect us directly we see no reason to be alarmed. The same thing happened with the Banking Act. It was a general consensus that if I didn't borrow any money from the bank I didn't care. We have lacked the guts to speak truth to power. Anguilla is such that if you speak out, they meaning the powers that be, while they may not be able to get at you, they will come after your family. The act of cowards. One is supposed to see wrong doing and say nothing about it. Whatever happened to the Anguilla that against all odds stood up to the bullies? We have morphed into a bunch of selfish people whose only interest is what's in it for me. The questions posed above will never be answered, because we don't want to face the truth. We have entrusted our homeland to a bunch of political hacks who don't give a damn or have a clue about what to do. We have been on this journey now for over fifty years and look what has happened to us. We have lost our banks, our investments, our homes and the list goes on. This government is getting ready to pass labor legislation that reportedly hasn't been well thought out, but that really shouldn't matter since we're accustomed to doing this sort of thing. You'll recall the draft planning bill from about twenty or thirty years ago? We are still doing what we want. Everyone who comes in under the guise of development has carte blanche to do whatever, with us left holding he bag. We've been at this for far too long to let this sort of behavior continue. When will we learn. Do we even care anymore?
