In celebration of achieving island-wide restoration, the Anguilla Electricity Company Ltd. (ANGLEC) would like to thank the public for its overwhelming support throughout the restoration process. Restoring electricity to all of Anguilla post-Hurricane Irma was an unprecedented exercise following a historic storm and immense loss and damage to our infrastructure.

ANGLEC would like to recognize all community stakeholders and persons who took the opportunity to encourage and reinvigorate our teams throughout the restoration, showing appreciation and confidence in our ability to light Anguilla by Christmas. Below is a list of events hosted in appreciation of ANGLEC’S restoration efforts at various stages of the process.

Her Majesty The Governor’s Office – October 27th, 2017

His Excellency the Governor, Tim Foy, and staff at the Governor’s Office, generously hosted a BBQ appreciation night to give thanks to ANGLEC’s employees and crews for their tireless efforts to restore electricity island-wide.

The East End Community – November 25th, 2017

The East End community came together to show appreciation for the complete restoration of the eastern portion of the island. The event took place on the grounds of the old East End School with barbecue, johnny cakes, drinks, music, speeches and a therapeutic and engaging drum circle.

Roy’s Restaurant – December 9th, 2017

The management and staff of Roy’s Restaurant in Sandy Ground hosted an appreciation dinner with amazing food and fellowship. The dinner provided an evening of calm and much needed relaxation for all, as the gravity of completing the restoration weighed heavily on ANGLEC’s teams, management, staff and visiting crews.

The Valley Primary School – December 15th, 2017

The Valley School Student Council, teachers and students held a heartwarming appreciation assembly ceremony for ANGLEC staff and linesmen from our Caribbean neighbours and Canada – with songs, prayers, speeches and gifts of “thank you” cake and cupcakes, gift baskets, water and fruit cups.

The South Hill Community – December 15th, 2017

The South Hill community displayed their appreciation for ANGLEC with fresh rock-oven baked johnny cakes – from their community oven – other food items, drinks, music, and speeches of gratitude. This night also turned into an unplanned celebration of island-wide restoration as ANGLEC’s teams completed the western end of the island ahead of schedule.

While there is still work to be done post-Hurricane Irma, the overwhelming community support displayed throughout this process proves that together we can, and will, rebuild stronger than before!
Thank you, from the Board of Directors, Management and Staff of ANGLEC. [For more photos and updates, visit ANGLEC online via Facebook.com/AnguillaElectricity.]
