SENIOR CITIZENS DISPLACED BY HURRICANE IRMA

Brenda’s Tender Loving Care Home is no longer situated at The Valley for the time being. The galvanised roof was ripped off by Hurricane Irma, forcing the evacuation of the residents there.

The Home is now located at George Hill in Brenda’s parents’ home where she spent her childhood years.
“Irma took our roof off in The Valley so we had to move here at George Hill where my parents’ house where I was born and raised, so it is like a moved back home and brought a lot of friends with me,” she told The Anguillian. “It is thirteen elderly people here with me. We are here until we get our roof back on. Sunset Homes is working hard on it to get us back in action.”

At the time when the hurricane struck, there were eleven residents at the home, two having left to spend the time with relatives.

The family home where he senior citizens are now located is owned by William and Vera Hodge, Brenda’s parents.
