The Anguilla Social Security Board was recently highly commended by the Anguilla Amateur Netball Association (AANA), for its generous sponsorship in facilitating the national team’s participation at the 27th OECS/ECCB Under-23 Netball Tournament which was held in Grenada during the period 16th – 20th June 2017.
With the Board’s support, through sponsorship, the AANA was able to meet the requirements for its under-23 team’s participation and proudly represented Anguilla.
According to the AANA President, Ms. Delma Titre, “the Tournament was indeed timely and a great opportunity for the players to attend. It was competitive, challenging and the fight to victory was highly contested.” Team Anguilla did its absolute best, and captured 5th position in the Tournament. The team was awarded the title of Most Disciplined Team throughout the competition, and one of its members, Ms. Artesha Richardson, captured the title of MVP of the team.
As an expression of gratitude, Team Anguilla made a visit to the Social Security Office and presented tokens of appreciation to the Director and Deputy Director, Timothy Hodge and Maglan Lewis respectively. The Team reiterated that without the Board’s sponsorship, it would not have been possible to participate in the Tournament; the AANA is very grateful to the Social Security Board. As a result of Team Anguilla’s participation, players were able to learn new tactics and skills that will be utilized and implemented during preparation to attend future tournaments.
The Social Security Board is grateful for the expression of gratitude offered by the under-23 Netball Team and the AANA. The Board congratulates Team Anguilla on its performance at the recent Netball Tournament and wishes them every success in future competitions.
