De Youngsters are the new Sunset Homes 2017 knock out champions. They got the last laugh of the 2017 female season as they sprang yet another upset to defeat the defending League Champions, Shining Stars, to capture the 2017 knock out Trophy.

In a very exciting and entertaining match both teams played to a stalemate at half time. However, De Youngsters came out with blood in their eyes in the second half. In the 52nd minute, striker Deanna Richardson latched on to a superb pass from Lanecia to finish expertly past the helpless Isabel in the Shining Stars goal. Fifteen (15) minutes later, Scharice Richardson scored a brilliant free kick from just outside the box to spark jubilation in De Youngsters camp.

The Shining Stars fought hard and bravely for the last 20 minutes, but superb defending and brilliant goalkeeping from Esther kept them at bay.

When the final whistle sounded, it was De Youngsters 2 and Shining Stars nil. Congratulations to De Youngsters the 2017 Sunset Homes knock out champions.

The curtains will come down on the 2017 female season with the official closing ceremony and awards presentation this Sunday at 7 pm at Raymond E. Guishard Football Stadium conference room.
