culinThe Anguilla National Culinary Team ( ANCT) takes this opportunity to say thanks to the many persons and companies who supported their efforts in any way, ensuring them that the newly recruited National team would be in a position to attend and observe the 2017 Taste of the Caribbean Competion and participate in the 305 Taste event.

A decision was taken last year after the team returned from competition, to launch a team with new Senior Chefs. As our Junior Chef had reached his age limit, a new Junior Chef had to be found.

This also afforded the opportunity to revamp the team and add fresh eyes, motivation and ideas.

Our new team consists of the following:
Mr. Dean Samuel Team Manager
Mr. Kelston ( Sweets) Connor Sr. Chef Ani Villas
Mr. Jomal Mc. Bean Sr. Chef Dolce Vita
Mr. Jamal Hodge Bartender CuisinArt
Ms. Leonicia Rey Richardson Pastry Chef CuisinArt
Ms. Dyesha Hodge Jr. Chef. ALHCS
Mr. Darren Connor Individual Competition FS
Mr. Lester Gumbs Pro. and Individual Competition.

The team was excited and although they did not cook, totally embraced that the decision was a neccessassary one for the betterment of the team overall. In their words, it is great that they were able to view and take in the competion from the other side of the competion and get back on tract.

The team is poised to compete in 2018, and has already started preparing themselves. They are planning a list of fundraisers to move themseves forward and assist in defraying the cost of getting them there.
The team is back on island, and was excited to have been awarded the Tony Mack Spirit of the Competition award. This was a total surprise to us all, and was well received as shown by the stellar support of the standing ovation from the other regional team members at the Awards Ceremony.

The team would like to thank the following persons, and note that if anyone is omitted, it is not deliberate but say thanks to all.
The Anguilla Tourist Board
Seaborne Airlines
Ani Villas
Frangipani Beach Hotel
Straw Hat Restaurant
Dolce Vita Restaurant
Nori Evoy and Anguilla Beaches
Janine Edwards-Sunset Homes
Four Seasons
Cap Juluca Hotel, and its entire staff
CuisinArt Golf Resort and Spa
Merchant’s Market

The team is grateful to the entire Anguillian public for their continued support, and the tremendous support of their Mothers’ Day Brunch.

The team is currently selling raffle tickets for a chance to win a fabulous Ani Villa dinner for six, hosted by Chef Sweets and two night stay for two at the beautiful Frangipani Hotel.
