The spacious Blue Ridge Convention Centre at South Hill was filled to near capacity on Wednesday, May 31, when the Government, through the Ministry of Home Affairs, entertained some 300 senior citizens at the annual Anguilla Day Luncheon.
This time the event, for nationals from throughout the island, was regarded as a special occasion in that it was in celebration of the 50th Anniversary of the Anguilla Revolution.
At the head table were Chief Minister, Mr. Victor Banks; Deputy Governor, Mr. Perin Bradley; Minister of Home Affairs, Mrs. Cora Richardson-Hodge; and Leader of the Opposition, Ms. Palmavon Webster. They all welcomed the senior citizens, thanked them for their varied contributions to the island over the years, and extended best wishes to them.
The food and refreshments were served by staff from the Ministry of Home Affairs, other branches of Government as well as business and community representatives. The serving was overseen by the Permanent Secretary and the Principal Assistant Secretary in the Ministry of Home Affairs, Mrs. Chanelle Petty Barrett and Mr. Kenneth Hodge respectively.
The catering was done by the operators of Ev’s Oven and English Rose Restaurants.
