The Director of the Anguilla Red Cross (ARC), a branch of the British Red Cross (BRC) recently attended the 14th Annual Overseas Branch (OSB) Directors Meeting in London. The opportunity was also taken for introductions to various key personnel at the BRC. The Caribbean Overseas Branches were represented by Red Cross Directors from Anguilla, Bermuda, the British Virgin Islands (BVI), the Cayman Islands, Montserrat and the Turks and Caicos Islands (TCI). The OSB Directors made presentations to the BRC on the respective Branch Strategic Plans 2015-2019. Meetings were held on topics, which include Adult Safeguarding, the Auxiliary Role of the Red Cross to Government with the BRC Head of International Law and the International Law Advisor, Financial Management, Governance, and Fundraising. The BRC facilitated a Directors Development Day and sessions for the 2017 Mid Term Review of the Branch Strategic Plans. The ARC Branch Director held productive one on one sessions with British Red Cross Officials who included the Senior Executive – Stewardship & Committee Fundraising Events, the Relationship and Events Manager of the International Fundraising Committee, the Head of West and Central Africa and the Overseas Region, the International Human Resources Advisor, the Head of Corporate Partnership, and the Disaster Risk Reduction Advisor. The ARC Director also had introductions to British Red Cross Senior Executives who included the Director of International Programmes, the Executive Director of International, and the Chief Executive Officer.
