The Department of Youth and Culture in collaboration with the organisers of Catapulted Conference hosted the 3rd Annual Entrepreneur EXPO “Symposium Style” on April 08th, 2017 at the JC Recreational Centre, under the theme “passion and profit.” The Entrepreneur EXPO Symposium seeks to display and promote local businesses on Anguilla, including the new businesses and ideas of the clients of the Anguilla GetSET programme, while engaging in panel discussions and numerous presentations by seasoned Entrepreneurs on Anguilla.
The EXPO was chaired by a local Entrepreneur and Manager of What We Do In Anguilla Magazine, “Mr. Clemvio Hodge”. The motivational keynote address was given by Mr. Louis Price (Local Entrepreneur and Owner of JC Recreational Centre), who provided sound words of encouragement to the aspiring and local entrepreneurs.
As part of the EXPO a panel discussion was held among 5 local entrepreneurs where the audience was later given a chance to engage in a question and answer segment. The members of the panel consisted of Mr. Austin “Bennie” Connor (Moderator), Mr. David Carty, Mr. Ashton Brooks, Ms. Diane Smith and Mr. Calvin “Paper” Vanterpool.
Ms. Heather Richardson (Enterprise Development Officer) delivered a well-informed overview of the Anguilla Get Set Programme. This was followed by a well appreciated presentation on the topic: “Managing Energy Cost” by Mr. David Gumbs (CEO ANGLEC).
The Youth Affairs Division of the Department of Youth and Culture and the organisers of Catapulted Conference would like to express gratitude to participants and supporters of the 3rd Annual Entrepreneur EXPO Symposium Style.
The Department of Youth and Culture also wishes to inform all young people living in Anguilla – between the ages of 18-35 years old – who have a viable business idea or would like to start their own business, that registration is still ongoing for the Anguilla GET SET Programme.
