Following a new class agenda, Leaders Leading Leaders was conducted by the Anguilla Community College on April 5-7, 2017. Facilitated by Melinda Goddard, of ClienTell Consulting, 15 participants completed the course. They represented the Anguilla Air and Seaport Authority (AASPA), the Department of Education, Probation Department and the Security sector.

The updated course emphasised the critical skills needed to confidently and constructively address difficult issues for organisations – as well as ways to defuse conflict among individuals who share the same goals and need to work together effectively. The importance of workplace civility and ensuring a leader’s integrity were also focal points of the seminar.

The course also presented best practices for: leading with a compelling vision; ensuring customer focus both internally and with ultimate stakeholders; engaging and helping every member of the team build on his/her strengths; and collaborating across departments, other organisations, and the community to implement winning solutions to address shared challenges.

Aspects the participants found most valuable included: “how important it is to value every given soul that is a part of my team…”; “learning how to lead my team to build a better work relationship so the business can be more successful…” ; “credibility… integrity… civility”; and “breakouts where we could share and learn from one another and practice what worked.”

The Anguilla Community College offers a wide array of short courses, Associate Degrees and TVET courses.
