In celebration of Special Education Needs (SEN) week, under the theme: Transforming, Empowering and Building our Nation through Diversification and Student-centred Education, teachers and students of ALHCS Campus B and the D.O.V.E. 2 Center gathered for a special assembly at the Rodney MacArthur Rey Auditorium on Monday March 6. The general assembly was aimed at empowering the students – and involved influential artists of the community.
Local artists, Joseph Pradel, Gershwin Lake and Evan Webster, entertained and serenaded the audience with very uplifting musical performances. Their performances drew great feedback from the audience, of teachers and students, who actively sang along with them. Also, briefly speaking to the students was pastor Carl Richardson.
The Special Education Needs (SEN) week of activities included: on Sunday, a church service at World Harvest Ministries; Tuesday, a field trip to Sensational Flavors Farm; Wednesday, a Kite making session at the Rodney MacArthur Rey Auditorium; Thursday, indoor games and a collage-making session and on Friday, a social event at Falcon Nest in Island Harbour.
