Ms. Stacie Ruan presenting cheque to the Principal of the ALHCS with Teachers and Students of the Music Department

In continuing with its efforts to assist in the medical and educational areas throughout our island, on 28th January, 2017 the East End Community Sports Club held its first gospel fundraiser concert for 2017 entitled “Youth in Concert” at the St. Augustine’s Anglican Church.

The club felt the need to assist our youth at the Albena Lake-Hodge Comprehensive School who are musically inclined, as music presents so many opportunities for them to broaden their horizons and can even become a career for some of them.
On 20th February, 2017, Mrs. Joyce Webster-Stewart, Principal of the Albena Lake-Hodge Comprehensive School, was presented with a cheque in the amount of EC$2,000.00 by Ms. Stacie Ruan, organizer of the fundraiser.
The cheque will be used to assist with the purchasing of equipment such as keyboards, cd players and any other items that are deemed necessary for the smooth functioning of the Music Department.
A special thank you is being extended to Social Security Board for sponsorship of the PA System; the St. Augustine’s Anglican Church for allowing the usage of their church; Ms. Tara Carter for being our Mistress of Ceremony; Pastor Gareth Hodge for rendering the opening prayer; our loyal participants who made the fundraiser a success; our ticket sellers and our un-wavering supporters. Thank you!
