In December 2015, the Board of Directors of the Anguilla Air and Sea Ports Authority (AASPA) resolved to adopt the Blowing Point Youth Development Centre for 3 years and provide support in the form of an annual grant of EC$5,000 and in-kind support. Additionally, the AASPA Board encourages its members, management and staff to be involved in the Blowing Point Youth Development Centre.
In the now second year, the AASPA has held true to its resolution by donating a check of EC$5,000 to the Blowing Point Youth Development Centre. The check was handed over on Friday December 23 by Mr. Fabian Marcel Fahie, Chairman of the Anguilla Air and Sea Ports Authority, and received by Mrs. Jemima Romney, Manager at the Blowing Point Youth Development Centre.
Mr. Fahie pledges continued support from the AASPA’s Board, Management and staff towards the development of the Centre. The Chairman also acknowledges that the Blowing Point Ferry Port serves as a major location of operations for the Anguilla economy and the people of Anguilla in general. As such, the Anguilla Air and Sea Ports Authority is happy to make a contribution in the community of Blowing Point. It is the hope of the Chairman that other businesses and persons would come on board and support the great work of the Blowing Point Youth Development Centre.
Mrs. Romney thanked the Directors, Management and Staff of the Anguilla Air and Sea Ports Authority for their financial contribution and their willingness to continue their pledge of assistance to the Centre.
