The Anguilla House of Assembly has given its approval to the Appropriation (2017) Act, 2016, which incorporates the Estimates of Recurrent Expenditure and Recurrent Revenue, to finance the public services for the year ending December 2017.
The budget debate was concluded late Tuesday evening, December 13, with the support of all members of the Government’s side of the House. The Leader of the Opposition, Ms. Palmavon Webster, was critical of some portions of the Budget Address, particularly in relation to the estimates of expenditure.
The Budget Address was delivered in the House of Assembly by Chief Minister and Minister of Finance, Mr. Victor Banks on. The budget, comprising Recurrent Expenditure, Recurrent Revenue and Capital Expenditure, amounts to an overall expenditure of EC$256,290, 216. It is the largest ever national budget recorded in Anguilla.
