The Anguilla Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ACOCI) is currently organizing its 5th Annual ‘Around Anguilla in 18 Holes’ Fundraising Golf Tournament Event scheduled to take place on Saturday, December 10th, 2016, at the Cuisinart Golf Resort & Spa. This year the tournament will get some major support thanks to the generous contribution of the Social Security Board (SSB).
The purpose of this event is to continue to raise funds for the ACOCI Scholarship Fund which entitles a financially deserving student to achieve his or her Associate Degree in Business or Hospitality at the Anguilla Community College (ACC).
The ACOCI partnered with the ACC in September 2010 and created the scholarship specifically to assist students in achieving their degree. We at the Chamber believe that education is key. In today’s world everyone wants to ‘see that piece of paper’. We need our people to have the required educational documents that would allow them to compete in today’s market place.
To this end, we are very appreciative and grateful to the Social Security Board in their donation of US$ 5,000.00 as the Title Sponsor of the event. Ms. Rosanna Brown of the SSB states, “The Anguilla Social Security Board is pleased to be a Title Sponsor of ACOCI’s Around Anguilla in 18 Holes Golf Tournament’ fundraiser. This annual event raises funds for the ACOCI Scholarship Fund, providing scholarships for students to pursue and achieve their higher education goals at the Anguilla Community College. Social Security Board is not only a reliable provider of benefits to its contributors, but also a socially responsible institution providing funding for community development activities and initiatives in the field of education, health, sports and culture. With our contribution as a Title Sponsor to this worthy cause, we continue to demonstrate our motto of “Improving the Quality of Life for All”‘.
The Chamber is anticipating another great tournament and, at this time, would also like to thank our other sponsors and participating golfers for their contribution to the tournament as well.
