Anguilla’s Chief Minister, Minister of Tourism and Economic Development, Mr. Victor Banks, has commended Mr. Leandro P. Rizzuto on his new investment – the Reef By CuisinArt – which officially opened on November 10.
Mr. Banks was at that time in London attending the Overseas Territories Joint Ministerial Council meeting with United Kingdom Ministers and other officials.
His comments on the new resort, overlooking Merrywing Bay, were made at the opening of the “Livin in the Sun” festival at the Reef By CuisinArt on Friday evening, November 11.
“I think the Reef by CuisinArt came out very, very well,” the Chief Minister told The Anguillian. “It is going to be among the number one spots in the Caribbean. They have made excellent use of the landscape and the topography, allowing for the green and open spaces that have accentuated the views and vistas of this property, especially looking out at the ocean from across the courtyard.
“It is an exquisitely beautiful job and I must congratulate Mr. Rizzuto for what he has done in bringing this project to where it now is. Some seven or eight years ago we thought we were at the end of this property, but it has come a long way and Mr. Rizzuto has really lived up to our expectations. He is a man who has continued to deliver on all of his promises and we hope that all of the staff and patrons will enjoy working here and living here. I am very, very proud of this property.”
The Reef By CuisinArt comprises eighty rooms – that is: a main building of fifty rooms and four villas totalling another thirty rooms. In addition, there are two restaurants, tennis courts and other facilities. The resort, which occupies eight acres of prime beachfront, is part of a 300-acre property which includes CuisinArt Resort, four restaurants, a signature 18-hole Greg Normal Golf Course and a number of estate homes.
The entire property is managed by Mr. Stephane Zaharia, Vice President and General Manager.
