Adrian T. Hazell Primary School Wins Teacher Wenham’s Choral Speaking Competition

Alwyn Allison Richardson Primary School

The Department of Education staged the second annual Teacher George Wenham Choral Speaking Competition on Thursday, November 10th, at the Rodney MacArthur Rey Auditorium.
The evening began with a brief opening ceremony was followed by the competition. Teams from each of the six primary schools presented their interpretation of the judged presentation entitled, “Gadgets Blast”. During this segment conductors also displayed their skill set in an effort to capture the “Best Conductor” award. The choice presentation in the non-competitive category of the event featured poems with an Anguillian theme.
The evening the results were as follows:
1st place – Adrian T. Hazell Primary School
2nd place – Morris Vanterpool Primary School
3rd place – Vivien Vanterpool Primary School

Best Conductor – Tr. Itasha Webster (VVPS)

It has become increasingly evident that students are benefiting in various ways from their participation in this elocution event. The Department of Education extends gratitude to all those who assisted the schools in their preparation and reminds the general public that contributions to the Teacher George Wenham Memorial Fund can be made by calling 497-5403/5704.
