DaVida’s Restaurant Beach Front View at Crocus Bay

The Anguilla Hotel and Tourism Association and the Anguilla Tourist Board, along with a number of sponsors, have entered a partnership to award a number of eligible persons and organisations at an all-red gala event.

“This year’s gala will take place on Friday evening, December 2, starting at six o’clock with the VIP Red Carpet Cocktail Reception on the beautiful pier at DaVida’s Restaurant at Crocus Bay,” a press release states. “This will be followed by the presentation of 14 awards at the main restaurant, and the after party will be held at DaVida’s Bayside Grill where the music will be provided by DJ Sugar. The event is considered by some to be Anguilla’s most glittering affair and is the finale to Tourism Week 2016.”

The release continues: “This year’s tourism theme is: Transforming our Industry for success through partnership and community engagement. The annual awards and gala give recognition to nominated individuals selected for providing the best service in the tourism industry for 2016. The areas of recognition are: Employee of the Year; Supervisor of the Year; Airport and Seaport Employees of the Year; Restaurant Member of the Year; Villa Member of the Year; Allied Member of the Year; Media Award; Pioneer of the Year; Entertainer of the Year; Rising Star of the Year; and Hotelier of the Year.
“We invite the Anguilla community to join us in honouring and recognising a few of our highly-valued staff and community persons. They have worked diligently in the tourism sector and contributed significantly to our nation’s tourism development for a number of years.”

Issued by Mrs. Gilda Gumbs-Samuel, Executive Director of the Hotel and Tourism Association, the press release went on: “Last year’s ‘Wear White’ was a tremendous success and was beautifully embraced. We thank you, our guests, who made it look so beautiful and effortless. From the numerous requests and feedbacks we have now received, has been the suggestion that, as we approach the Christmas holidays this year, we should ‘Wear Red’. We look forward to seeing our ladies in their beautiful and elegant red party dresses and our gentlemen wearing red ties.”

This year’s sponsors of the Tourism Awards and Recognition Ceremony are: Les Grands Vins de France Ltd; Blue Sea Anguilla; the National Commercial Bank of Anguilla; Social Security; DIGICEL; Zemi Beach Resort; Leviticus Lifesytyle & Travel; FlOW Anguilla; Cap Juluca Resort and Straw Hat Restaurant.
