As part of Teachers’ Week, Governor Christina Scott held a reception for teachers at Government House on Thursday, October 6. She thanked the educators for their inspirational leadership and the great responsibility they manifest in caring and nurturing the minds of the future leaders of Anguilla.

The Governor was joined by the Minister of Education, Mr. Evans McNiel Rogers, who also thanked the teachers, on behalf of the Government of Anguilla, for their work.

Ms. Shauna Connor, an Executive Member of the Anguilla Teachers’ Union, encouraged the teachers to be professional, respectful and responsible. “You must have positive attitudes, set high expectations and not be afraid of taking risk,” she admonished them.

Mr. Julian Monrose, President of the Caribbean Union of Teachers, was grateful for the opportunity to share in the Governor’s reception and to have been in Anguilla to deliver the keynote address for Teachers’ Week and the Teachers’ Conference.
