On Tuesday, 18th October, the Environmental Health Unit hosted its 17th Annual Vector Awareness Programme under the theme: “Bed Bugs, Bed Bugs, don’t be alarmed! Keep calm, spray on Bed Bugs be gone,” at the Teachers’ Resource Centre.
The programme seeks to bring awareness to the ways of eradicating vectors in the community. Mr. Alex Fleming – Chairperson, stated; “In order to successfully control all vector-borne diseases, it needed the effort of each and every one to not only accept the Vector Team, as they may come to your home or business, but for you to equip yourself on how to carry out control methods.”
The Jingle Competition was judged by Mr. Gershwin Lake, Mr. Mijah Harrigan and Ms. Wendy Petty on the following: presentation, duration, clarity, fluency, expression and content.

This year’s winners are Central Baptist (1st Place), Island Harbour Christian (2nd Place) and St. Mary’s Anglican (3rd Place).
