Rikiesha Leveret Earns a Volleyball Scholarship to UWI

Following an impressive performance in round one of the recently held FIVB, World Cup Qualifiers (August 5th to 8th 2016), Ms. Rikiesha Leveret has been awarded a volleyball Scholarship from the University of the West Indies. Ms. Leveret was adjudged to be the “Best Opposite hitter” of the tournament. While at The University of the West Indies Cave Hill Campus, Rikiesha will pursue a Bachelor’s of Arts Degree in Information Technology with a minor in Education. She will play volleyball for the Black Birds of UWI and be coached by Mr. Aundrea Wharton.

Ms. Leveret would like to express sincere gratitude to the Anguilla Amateur Volleyball Association, who helped her in securing the scholarship. She would also like to thank, Mr. Justus Connor, Mr. Ian Connor and Mr. Jason Liburd for coaching her and helping refine her skills. Gratitude is also expressed to all her teammates, past and present for their continuous words of encouragement, especially Ms. Farrah Banks. Finally, Ms. Leveret would also like to thank Mr. Evan “Styler” Anderson, for allowing her to use his gym, helping her when necessary and encouraging her to work hard.
