An impressive theme song and music video, produced in Anguilla, for the launch of Financial Information Month 2016 by the Eastern Caribbean Central Bank and the Monetary Council, has been viewed and enjoyed by nationals in the eight-member territories.
The occasion was the launch of Financial Information Month on Tuesday, August 30, at a Regional Videoconference held simultaneously in the Central Bank’s sub-regional representatives’ offices including Anguilla. The overarching theme of Financial Information Month is Create, Optimise, Pursue and Embrace Opportunities (COPE).
The video and live performance of the theme song was produced by Anguillian Tyrone “Latest” Brooks along with back-up by young girls. Brooks is the lead singer of Anguilla’s leading band, Exodus HD. He has been, and is, the Road March King of the Anguilla Summer Festival for the past five years including 2016. His aspiration is to become an international soca artiste. The youthful singers, who performed with him in the video, are Jeronica Vanterpool, Royana Webster, Deronique Smith, Francesca Richardson and Dauarrah Croft. Filming for the video was done at various locations in Anguilla, depicting employment opportunities.
Financial Information Month is October when there will be a series of sub-regional and local activities in all eight-member territories of the ECCB/ECCU.
Commenting on the theme for the month, a write-up in the programme booklet stated:
“The word Opportunities conjures up possibilities, options, different paths, ideas, innovation, getting started, action, leadership, pushing past our comfort zone, stretching higher and more.
“The COPE acronym challenges us to create opportunities; to take advantage of the possibilities that these opportunities present by optimising them; to look for opportunities everywhere and pursue them; and then, once we have opportunities, to embrace them and take advantage of what is available and possible.”
