Scores turned out to the Sandy Ground Recreational Field on Thursday August 4th, 2016, for the second annual Eyes Wide Shut.
The event – a daybreak fete – started at 12 midnight and ended at 11am. It was organised by Creative Entertainment in collaboration with the Anguilla Summer Festival Committee.

A number of local, regional and international artists performed on Dome stage – a first for Anguilla – erected by MegaSound International out of St. Maarten. The diverse lineup featured: The Original Burning Flames – Antigua; Lyrikal – Trinidad & Tobago; DJ Private Ryan – Trinidad & Tobago; Coud 5 – Grenada; Pantha Vibes International – Anguilla; De Movements Band – Anguilla; DJ Kastro, DJ Blackmail and DJ Vybz. The show was hosted by infamous Anguillian Disc jockey, DJ Jeanie, along with MC Dutty Sham out of St. Maarten .

Organizer, O’Leary Richardson, noted: “While it is an event to add to the Carnival week of activities, it’s also an attempt at revitalizing and restoring August Thursday to what it once was”.

Patrons benefitted from an inclusive venue which featured a large area for parking as well as a breakfast bar and free Wifi for VIPs.
An event of this magnitude would not have been possible without the help of sponsors. They included: Flow, MegaSound International and the Anguilla Summer Festival Committee, The Anguilla Tourist Board, Calypso Charters, Captain Morgan White Rum, Leviticus Lifestyle & Travel, SoCreative Designs, Johnnie Walker Black Label, Subway, JTC Customs Brokerage, Aronel, Paradise Cove Resort, Ocean Echo, Junie’s Car Rental, Jerry’s Taxi & Tours, Klass FM 92.9 and Squareless.ai.

The third staging of the show is scheduled for August 10th 2017 at the same venue. Work has already begun and patrons should expect a bigger and better show.
