The operator of SXM Attractions (in St. Martin/St. Maarten), Alexander Hodge, who has family ties in Anguilla, has returned to the island again this year for the Summer Festival, adding much entertainment to the various carnival and boat-racing events.
“This year I have brought a new entertainment set-up called “The Twister”, he said. “That’s the equipment which takes you in the air and shakes you up a little bit. I just got it and the people in Anguilla who saw it in St. Martin/St. Maarten like it – and have been asking me when I was bringing it to Anguilla. It is here now so they can come and check it out.”
Mr. Hodge said he would be providing this new type of entertainment, as well as the original amusement and children’s toys, until the end of the month.
The next piece of entertainment equipment he is looking to acquire for his business is the ferris wheel which has multi-passenger-carrying components. “Many people have been asking me for it and I will be seeing about that,” he promised.

Hodge said his grandparents and mother were from Anguilla. “It is good to come over here every year to provide the Coney Island entertainment for children and adults as well. They are asking us to come a little more often, through the year, but this is not possible given the cost of transportation. However, we are trying to do the most we can by coming to Anguilla every year,” he added.
