Three Anguilla Cricketers left the island today to join their Leeward Islands counterparts in Antigua on their way to tournaments under the auspices of the West Indies Cricket Board to be played in the Windward Islands.
The U-19 players are Jaidel Richardson and Jacob Parles both quality all-rounders and outstanding fielders with opening batsman Damien Hodge representing the U-15s. Charlie Hodge of the Anguilla Cricket Association traveled to St. Maarten to ensure travel arrangements for Damien were in order while Jaidel and Jacob were seen off by the President and Vice President of the Anguilla Cricket Association.
In commenting on the three players the president thanked the parents for their unswerving support to cricket on Anguilla which is of the utmost significance in addressing many of the challenges confronting local cricket.
The U-15 player returns to Anguilla from the tournament in Grenada on August 4th while the U-19 players return home form their tournament in St. Vincent on August 22nd.
Both teams will undergo a short camp in Antigua before proceeding to the tournament venues.
