In a manner of solemnity, pall bearers of the uniformed Band bore the body of the late Abraham (Alwyn) Vanfield Thomas to and from St. Mary’s Anglican Church on Monday this week, July 19. The remains of the quiet and unassuming gentleman were interred into the Church-yard Cemetery there.
The Service of Thanksgiving was attended by a fairly large number of family, church and community members who held him in high esteem. A Chorister, and regular worshipper, he was accorded the full rites of the Church.

The late Alwyn Thomas was among a number of Anguillians who migrated to the United Kingdom where he resided and worked for a several years before returning to Anguilla. Soon after his return he joined the Royal Anguilla Police Community Band where he served as the Alto Saxophone Player and contributed immensely to its laudable performance at church, police, and community functions.

The Thanksgiving Service was conducted throughout by Reverend Menes Hodge. The Organist was Romeiko Richards, an up and coming young musician. The Police Community Band, St. Mary’s Choir, and family members, gave several renditions during the Service of Thanksgiving.
