The National Commercial Bank of Anguilla is pleased to announce that the winner of its Logo Competition is Mr. Rudy Webster of Long Path. The selection committee decided that his submission was the one which would best serve as the effective corporate identity of the Bank. His submission (Logo) signifies a vibrant new image of NCBA – and what the Bank means not only to its valued customers and employees, but also to the entire Anguillian community as it (the Bank) continues to forge ahead.
Mr. Webster explained that: “The Logo was conceptualized around an image of the sun. The sun is meant to depict the dawn of a new day or a new beginning. In Anguilla and the rest of the Caribbean, or the world for that matter, the presence of the sun usually signifies a beautiful day. The water included in the Logo helps to depict the sun as rising, as opposed to it already being in the sky. The inclusion of the three dolphins rising from the water was inspired by our beautiful flag [symbol of our national pride] and was added to highlight Anguillian nationalism”. For these reasons, the selection committee was unanimous in its choice of Mr. Webster’s submission as NCBA’s Logo.
On Tuesday 5th July, Mr. Colville L. Petty, Chairman of the Board of Directors of NCBA, was exceedingly pleased to present Mr. Webster with the EC$1,000 award for his winning entry which he (Petty) described as a masterpiece that would serve NCBA well.
Mr. Petty expressed his sincere gratitude to Mr. Webster, for his winning entry, as well as to the 16 other members of the community – including members of staff of NCBA – who submitted entries.
In all, 17 members of the community took part in the competition which showed a total of 33 design entries received by the 24th June 2016 deadline. The selection committee was especially happy to have this level of participation, and it therefore decided that the other entrants (non-winners) should each be provided with an NCBA savings account, valued at EC$200, in appreciation of his or her time and effort.
The large number of competitors also reflected the keen interest that members of our community have in the NCBA image, and the selection committee was especially proud that their entries – based on the descriptions that accompanied them – all told a story of what the Bank means to all Anguillians.
Most certainly, the NCBA is destined to be a strong, viable and permanent fixture on Anguilla’s financial landscape.
