The showcase was well attended by teachers, parents, friends and government officials. The students performed a number of songs written by them over the course the week-long project. Executive Director of the GRAMMY Museum noted: “A week ago when we all met at the college, we didn’t know each other. These students have done tremendously well in one week; imagine what can be done in one month”.
Two students were awarded at the showcase: Levonda Delaney received an Apple IPad for the Spirit and Soul Award; and Joshua Gumbs received a gift certificate from the GRAMMY Museum for the first ever GRAMMY Museum Special Merit Award.
Mr. Joe Watson of the Sangreal Foundation commended the students for their hard work and dubbed the project a successful one in Anguilla. “The Anguilla Music Academy is committed to staying here and supporting you. I will go back and share this with all my friends. The level of devotion and pride we feel in your achievements is beyond words”, he said.
