tenThe Anguilla Tennis Academy (ATA) is pleased to announce that Denny Derrick, Director of ATA Programs, has successfully completed a two-week High Performance Training Program at the T Bar M Racquet Club (“T Bar M”) in Dallas, Texas. This was Denny’s second trip in one year aimed at developing his high performance training skills. Chris Wade, Athletic Director of T Bar M Racquet Club Dallas, Texas, stated that, “Denny has done an incredible job in developing his skills to become a T Bar M High Performance Tennis Professional. His willingness to educate himself on how to train top junior tennis players has been impressive. He will be a great asset to the ATA for many years to come”.
Mr. Denny Derrick left Anguilla on Saturday, June 11th 2016 and returned on June 25th 2016. Denny is currently employed by the ATA as the Director of the ATA’s High Performance program and is also responsible for the tennis program at Malliouhana, an Auberge Resort.

The Anguilla Tennis Academy has developed a great partnership with T Bar M Racquet Club, and many of its current graduates, who are on tennis athletic scholarships, received high performance training at T BAR M.
Denny stated: “I have gained a great deal of knowledge and coaching experience from the amazingly talented coaching staff at T Bar M. I was also able to improve my fitness level and playing ability competing with the high performance players at T Bar M. I am grateful for this opportunity and would like to extend heartfelt gratitude to Mitch Lake, ATA Management Team, Glen Agritelley, Chris Wade and the Management and staff at T Bar M Racquet Club, for their support towards my development in the sport of tennis”.

Mitch Lake, Founder of the Anguilla Tennis Academy, stated that: “Denny is a perfect example of how the ATA meets its mission by (1) nurturing the local talent of players who grow up participating in the ATA’s programs, and (2) providing employment opportunities for its students. Having watched Denny grow up through the ATA as a player, and now become a very competent high performance coach, I am confident that the ATA and our High Performance Academy will grow to another level as Denny imparts the knowledge and skill to the players participating in the ATA’s program. I am proud of Denny’s growth as a coach and player over the past year. Our investment in the development of our local coaches will ensure the ATA and its programs are sustained for future generations”.
