The Valley, Anguilla, July 13, 2016……Anguilla was the exclusive destination featured at a Bloomberg Media Private Access Event at The Lightbox in New York City on Tuesday, July 12, 2016. The by invitation only reception connected Anguilla with over 150 elite Bloomberg subscribers and VIPs. Anguilla was showcased during the evening through its music, food and stunning visuals of the island, projected on all the walls for a totally immersive experience.
Gibson guitars, a co-sponsor for the evening, invited Anguilla’s unofficial musical ambassador Omari Banks to their showroom to select a Gibson guitar of his choice, and he delivered a riveting solo acoustic musical performance for the guests. Servings of the Anguilla Blue cocktail and Anguillian hors d’oeuvres were passed throughout the evening. An Anguilla vacation giveaway, courtesy of the spectacular Bird of Paradise Villa (www.AnguillaBird.com) attracted lots of attention and entries.
The event is one component of a wide-ranging partnership initiated by the Ministry of Investment & Tourism with Bloomberg Media, a multi-channel global business media organization, utilizing their various platforms to promote both tourism and investment in Anguilla.
“We are re-introducing Anguilla to investors and high net worth individuals as an attractive destination for both investment and tourism, and this partnership provides an important bridge to those audiences,” said Anguilla’s Chief Minister, The Hon. Victor Banks. “Increasing foreign direct investment to our island is an important objective in our economic program; this requires a sustained outreach that goes beyond the tourism sector, but builds on the strength of our tourism proposition,” he continued.
The initial campaign is targeted towards tourism, and includes a presence in the July and September issues of Bloomberg Pursuits, the lifestyle magazine for Bloomberg Terminal subscribers that reaches an affluent audience of 400,000 frequent travelers, as well as Bloomberg Pursuit’s exclusive weekly e-Newsletter, delivered to an opt-in subscriber base of over 20,000.
Subsequent initiatives will target investment and technology, both areas of economic interest for the island.
