O.K.P.S Remains Undisputed Netball Champion

Students assembled on Wednesday 4th May for the presentation of awards for the successfully concluded 8th Annual ANGLEC Primary School Netball Tournament, hosted by the Anguilla Amateur Netball Association (A.A.N.A).
The tournament ran from April 22nd to April 29th with the Orealia Kelly Primary School, coached by Linda Proctor, retaining the championship for the 7th year in a row. All of the tournament’s expenses were generously covered by the Anguilla Electricity Company (ANGLEC) which was presented with an appreciative award by the A.A.N.A for its continued sponsorship over the years.

Newly elected President of the A.A.N.A, Delma Titre, commended the players for showcasing “attributes of determination, strategy, sportsmanship, mutual respect, discipline and overall teamwork”.

Ms. Leah Hughes, representative from ANGLEC, encouraged the players to continue in their pursuit of the sport, and to encourage others to participate.

The results of the competition were as follows:
1st – Orealia Kelly Primary School
2nd –Vivien Vanterpool Primary School
3rd – Morris Vanterpool Primary School
4th – Adrien T. Hazell Primary School
5th – Alwyn Allison Primary School
6th – Valley Primary School
The Most Valuable Player (MVP) for each school was:
Paris Leveret – A.A.R.P.S.
Quanisha – A.T.H.P.S.
Jennel Smith – V.P.S.
Adanna Richardson – O.K.P.S.
Tiandra Carter – M.V.P.S.
Akoyah Phillip – V.V.P.S.

Other awards included:
Overall Most Valuable Player: Carlia Johnson (O.K.P.S)
Overall Best Centre Court Player: Tiandra Carter (M.V.P.S.)
Overall Best Defensive Player: Akoyah Phillip (V.V.P.S)
Best Goal Shooter: Adanna Richardson (O.K.P.S.)
