TOPEKA, Kansas – Nzingha Banks is amongst four Student-Athletes from Washburn University who are currently being featured in the newest National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division II “Make It Yours” video campaign in the United States. Nzingha is representing Women’s Tennis in the commercial and was in Kansas City earlier this year to participate in the video production that is marketing the Division II’s new slogan.

Established in 1906, the NCCA serves as the athletics governing body for more than 1,200 universities, colleges, conferences and organizations across the United States and Canada. Division II schools are relatively smaller, with an average enrollment of 4,500 and offer athletically gifted students an opportunity to compete at a high level, while maintaining the traditional student focus on academics.

A member of the Washburn University Women’s Tennis Team, Nzingha is completing a double major in Accounting and Finance, with plans to pursue CPA eligibility requirements and a Masters in Accounting & Information Systems. She currently serves as the Women’s Tennis Representative on the Washburn Student-Athlete Advisory Council, Treasurer of the Washburn Black Student Union, and was recently named in the Who’s Who Among Students in American Colleges & Universities. Throughout her studies Nzingha has maintained an excellent GPA earning numerous awards, including a three-time listing on the President’s Honor Roll, as well the Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association (MIAA) Student Athlete Honor Roll Award during her Freshman, Sophomore and Junior Seasons.

The video can be found through NCAA Division II’s YouTube page (NCAA DivisionII) or https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Lhv5na7aq8w
