The Good News Clubs, a Child Evangelism Fellowship (CEF) programme in Primary Schools in Anguilla participated in an Easter Party Club Rally on Tuesday 29 March.
The event was to commemorate Easter and the risen Saviour, Jesus Christ. The eager children returned to school after the Easter weekend to attend this well planned event. They were transported from their school to the Ruthwill Auditorium Gazebo, from where they marched to the the Teacher’s Resource Centre. Escorted by the Royal Police they sang “Good News to all the World” and ” Extra Good News” about Christ dying for man’s sins.
The rally was attended by a few parents, a number of teachers including two principals, Mrs. Tracelyn Hamilton and Mr. Michael Skellekie. Mrs. Susan Smith, Education Officer, Primary and Pre-Schools and Ms. Sandra Fahie, Education Officer, Curriculum – the latter of whom gave brief remarks.
It was an exciting time as the clubbers sang Gospel Sings, did Scripture memorization in a fun way and listened to a stirring visualized Bible lesson entitled ” Thomas believes”. They were urged to believe in what the resurrection truly means to mankind.
Members of the CEF Board, including it’s Chairman, John Martin and Vice Chairman Denease Gumbs and many Good News Club volunteers were actively in attendance. They too enjoy the joy of Easter and the well-supported rally.
The parents, teachers, principals and other education officials – and indeed all who care about the welfare of the children of Anguilla – are to be greatly thanked including the two sponsors of the event – Aronel Water and The National Bank of Anguilla.
