As part of its on-going community outreach and awareness building initiatives, UWI Open Campus Representatives, Dr. Phyllis Fleming-Banks and Miss Tesia Harrigan recently met with a number of LIME Anguilla staff to share the online and on site programmes being offered by the University. LIME Country Manager Desron Bynoe, Marketing and Communications Manager, Jade Reymond and Business Support Officer Pamela Riley were among the staff members in attendance.
During the sessions, the LIME team members were provided with information on the various Certificate, Diploma, Graduate and Post Graduate Degree programmes. Of key interest were the affordable and flexible pathways to personal and professional development provided by the University. Individuals can proceed at their own pace by enrolling as fulltime, part-time, or “specially admitted students”. “Specially Admitted Students” can sign up for one or more courses without committing to a full programme.
The LIME Staff also heard about the University’s Prior Learning Assessment Programme that translates on-the-job experience into University credits. The UWI Reps also fielded questions on the registration process, scholarships and the support provided by the local Site.
UWI Open Campus Anguilla is expressing appreciation to LIME Anguilla for allowing them the opportunity share the University’s programmes with their team.
The UWI Open Campus is currently accepting applications for the 2015/2016 Summer Professional Development Series, as well as the 2016/2017 academic year. The awareness building sessions are slated to continue with other public and private organisations. Persons or organisations interested in the special information sharing sessions are encouraged to contact the UWI Open Campus Anguilla Site at anguilla@open.uwi.edu or telephone 497-8156.
The local team is also inviting interested persons to visit the website (http://www.open.uwi.edu/prospective/welcome) or the local Site office for additional assistance as they seek to take advantage of the opportunity to continue their professional and academic development through the online and face to face programmes.
