The Albena Lake-Hodge Comprehensive School (ALHCS), particularly the Music Department, is the grateful recipient of a cheque for US$1,500 from Malliouhana-Anico Insurance Company (MAICO). The cheque was presented on Wednesday 16th March, 2016.
The donation followed the highly acclaimed variety concert produced by the Music Department on 11th February. The contribution will complement the money raised by that event and will go towards the establishment of a music lab at Campus B.
The Music Department is seeking to purchase music notation software, ‘Finale’, which will be installed on 20 laptop computers for students enrolled in the music programme. The software will allow students to apply their knowledge and skills in music theory and performance to formulate compositions and arrangements which can be recorded, replayed, and printed as musical scores. In addition, 16 full-sized violins will be purchased to augment the Concert Band by adding an exciting and enriching strings section to the Music Department.
The staff and students of the school wish to express gratitude to MAICO and all the other supporters of their exciting venture. They are sure it will enhance the delivery and reception of music education at the school.
