First Race of Inter-Territorial Youth Challenge

1st youth challenge picOn Sunday, March 6, 2016, the first in a series of Anguilla/St. Maarten/St. Martin Inter-territorial Youth Challenge races began. This event was held in St. Maarten, so once again cyclists and supporters made their way across the waters. Anguilla secured the following positions:

 

Beginners (Under 9 years)

4th Place – Kmari Ruan
Poussins (9-10 years
6th Place – Dmitri Niles
Minimes (13-14 years)
1st Place – Cailan Fleming
2nd Place – Deanthony Niles
3rd Place – Nicholas Carbon
5th Place – Kai Ruan
7th Place – Jacheem Richardson
Cadets (15-16 years)
4th Place – Huekhwami Hughes
7th Place – Nickilon Gumbs-Niles

Though the Juniors are not included in the Youth Challenge, “A Sprint Off” was held for their category. . Anguilla shone once again with Shaquan Hodge and Jamari Bryan being the finalists. With a tight and sweet finish, Shaquan crossed the lined just a few seconds ahead of Jamari.
The Anguilla Cycling Association would like to thank Nicky V Ferry, Government of Anguilla and Air & Seaport Authority for their continued support of our travels to St. Maarten/Martin.
The next race in the Youth Challenge series will be held in Anguilla on March 13, 2016. The Primary School Championship will continue on this day and the Juniors, Elite and Masters will be competing as well. This all happens on the Queen Elizabeth Avenue at 1 p.m. See you then.
