Soca’s power couple, Bunji Garlin and Fayon Lyons’ performance at Digicel’s Bacchanal Friday in Kingston, Jamaica was interrupted by a worthwhile surprise from the telecommunications company. The artists were given a pair of brand new Samsung Galaxy S7, making them the first in the Caribbean to own the latest device in the Galaxy line. Not to be left out, lucky Digicel customer Malcolm Eleweanya also won a S7 after topping up at the event. Joining in the moment are Kamal Powell, senior sponsorship and development manager at Digicel and Amita Persuad Webb, the face of Digicel’s 2016 carnival promotions. The Samsung Galaxy S7 and S7 edge are set to launch in just a few weeks.

Kingston, Jamaica – Sunday, March 20, 2016: Soca’s power couple, Fayon Lyons and Bunji Garlin, were happy to be the first in the Caribbean to be presented with the all-new, sleek Samsung Galaxy S7 smartphone by Digicel.
The presentation to the couple was made during their electrifying performance on stage inside the Mas Camp in Kingston, Jamaica, in front of thousands of excited socaphiles. Just before performing their final set, Kamal Powell, Senior Sponsorship and Development Manager for Digicel Jamaica, surprised the artists where he made the presentation to them.
To express thanks to Digicel, Bunji and Fayon could not resist doing a freestyle jingle made on-the-spot in which they boasted about being the first in the Caribbean to own the first two S7 smartphones.

One lucky patron also left Mas Camp in high spirits after winning an S7 by simply purchasing call credit at the event. Walking away as the first Jamaican to own the much-anticipated device, Malcolm Eleweanya said, “I’m elated. I was not expecting this at all. Thanks Digicel!”
Meanwhile, Group Director of Marketing for Caribbean and Central America, Peter Lloyd said; “We are all about providing the most amazing devices that our customers can use on the best network. With the Samsung Galaxy S7 and S7 edge, our customers can surf, stream and share for business and pleasure to their heart’s content safe in the knowledge that they are at the cutting edge of technology.”
