Thursday evening, February 25, saw a gathering of leaders from various churches, associated with the Anguilla Christian Council and the Anguilla Evangelical Association, at the House of Assembly Chambers.
They were there to pray for various matters relating to the social, economic and political life and wellbeing of Anguilla. The groups were led by the Reverend Dr. Wycherley Gumbs, Chairman of the Christian Council and Superintendent Minister of the Anguilla Methodist Circuit; and Pastor Lucian McDonna, Chairman of the Evangelical Association and Pastor of the Life Impact Centre.
In his opening remarks, Pastor McDonna, who has emerged as a coordinator of religious crusades and other meetings in Anguilla, said in part: “We know that Anguilla is at a very breaking point in social and spiritual issues. Many people have asked, over the years, where is the Church? This evening, the Church is here seeking God’s guidance and wisdom in social, spiritual and moral issues…that confront us here in Anguilla. We thank God for those Pastors who are here to join our hearts together to pray or this country.”
Pastor McDonna indicated earlier that the prayer session would be a monthly event involving the services of media houses.
