The general public got a chance to view artwork done by year 5 art students of the Albena Lake Hodge Comprehensive School (ALHCS) at the 2016 Caribbean Examination Council (CXC) Visual Arts Exposition on Monday 21. As part of their final assessment each student is required to produce six art pieces and a journal which will go towards their final grade.
The Rodney MacArthur Rey Auditorium was transformed into an art gallery that featured artwork from nineteen students. There was an array of textures and techniques displayed. Students often use their canvas to display their inner thoughts and personalities – featuring a number of pieces inspired by the body, beauty, African cultures, the Caribbean, hobbies et cetera. Students were delighted to showcase their hard work.
The exhibition pieces will be shipped off to the CXC for further examination and final grading.
