On Thursday 3rd March 2016, Alwyn Alison R Primary School celebrated its 2nd annual World Book Day, the biggest celebration of poems, authors and, most importantly, reading of its kind. Children wrote book reports and dressed up as their favourite book character. Also, during the day stories were read to students by staff from the Anguilla Library – and students from the D.O.V.E Centre and Kindergarten enjoyed a puppet show. In a future assembly both certificates and prizes will be awarded to students for both costumes they wore and book reports they wrote. We would like to thank our story tellers Anthea Roach and Cassilda Thomas – Carty and also Samantha Cate for entertaining D.O.V.E and Kindergarten with an interactive puppet show.
We would also like to thank Coral Reef Bookstore for a donation of book vouchers to book report winners. It was once again a successful day combining both learning and fun.
