2016 JUNIOR BASKETBALL TOURNAMENT RECAP

The 2016 Junior Basketball Tournament started on 3rd March with a game in the under 15 division. Top Hill (U15) defeated Bandits (U15) 30 to 22. Top Hill were led by Tafari Smith with 16 points, Deandra Lake led Bandits with 7 points. In the under 19 game Top Hill 1 (U19) lost their season opener to the Sho-Tyme Boys (U19) (formerly Junior Hoyas) 66 to 37. Sho-Tyme were led by Aaron Gumbs with 24 points and Leondro Lloyd led Top Hill 1 with 10 points.

On 4 March two games were played. In game one Sho-Tyme boys (U19) won a hard fought battle over OTF (U19) 41 to 40. Sho-Tyme were again led by Aaron Gumbs with 15 points, Jeronnie Fleming led OTF with 11 points. In game two Top Hill 2 (U19) lost to defending champions Young stars (U19) 52 to 31. Young Stars were led to victory by Junior (Fezeek) Rogers with 28pts and Gustin Garroway led Top Hill 2 with 10pts.
On 5th March one game was played because of the inclement weather. Young Stars (U19) defeated Bandits (U19) by scoring a tournament record 115pts to Bandits 27pts. Junior (Fezeek) Rogers led all scorers with 44pts, Mattius Pemberton and Javeth Vanterpool led Bandits with 8 points each.
