The Royal Anguilla Police Force is investigating the circumstances surrounding the death of a 33 yr. old man from The Keys, Island Harbour in the sea at Shoal Bay East on Saturday 20th February, 2016 at about 2:45pm.
Initial investigations at the scene by members of the Royal Anguilla Police Force revealed that the victim who was at Shoal Bay at the time of the incident was attempting to save a motor vessel that was about to sink. In his attempt to do so he was overcome by the sea and his body had to be removed from the water by a member of his family.
The body of the victim was then taken to the Island Harbour Pier where he was handed over to the EMTs who were on hand. He was taken to the Princess Alexandra Hospital where he was later pronounced dead.
A postmortem has been ordered by the Coroner and a Family Liaison Officer has been appointed to the family by the RAPF during this difficult time.

The Commissioner of Police and members of the Royal Anguilla Police Force would like extend sympathy to the grieved family and friends of the deceased.

The Anguillian extends condolences to the family.
