The Royal Anguilla Police Force is investigating the circumstances surrounding a shooting incident which occurred sometime at 9:00 am on Monday morning, February 8, in the area of Delta Petroleum Gas Station on the Blowing Point Road.
At 9:55am police responded to the Princess Alexandra Hospital where it was reported that a young man had showed up with a gunshot wound to his upper body. He remains hospitalized at the Princess Alexandra.

In appealing to the public for assistance Commissioner of Police Mr. Paul Morrison said, “Serious crime is like a cancer in society and when you deal with it quickly and effectively society can recover. However if it is left to persist the cancer will eventually destroy the host.”
Commissioner Morrison continued, “The RAPF is presently dealing with a body that is riddled with a cancer that is called serious crime. Unless everybody in Anguilla is now more willing to assist the police in bringing these people to justice Anguilla will suffer significantly.”

“We continue to appeal to the public who may have been in the area of Gas Station at the time of the incident of may have any information to assist the police to do so by calling Police Headquarters at 497-2333 or use our anonymous reporting system on www.gov.ai/911”.

A Family Liaison Officer has been assigned to the family of the victim.
