The Health Authority of Anguilla wishes to inform the general public that between the 15th- 19th February 2016, the Health Authority of Anguilla will be conducting a series of training programs which will be facilitated by Global Medical Emergency Training, Inc., formerly Worldwide International Emergency Medical Services (WIEMS) of Washington DC with a highly qualified staff of instructors, mainly from Howard University in Washington DC.

A total of 93 employees comprising Doctors, Nurses, Emergency Medical Technicians and Paramedics will take part in these sessions. All 93 employees will participate in the Basic Life Support. Seven (7) will be re-certified as EMT’s, two (2) will be re-certified as Paramedics, twenty seven (27) will undertake the Advanced Cardiac (ACLS), twenty five (25) will take part in the Paediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) and fifteen (15) will be trained in the Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP).

Upon completion of the courses, participants will receive American Heart Association BLS, PALS and course completion certification cards.

Because most of the doctors will be involved in the training, some GP and Specialist clinics in the community have been cancelled. Clients are therefore advised that on the morning of Wednesday 17 February 2016, there will be no GP clinic in South Hill. Clients are therefore encouraged to attend at Welches.

Additionally, the Accident & Emergency will still be accepting emergency cases.
We apologize for the inconvenience to the public and crave your patience, your understanding and your cooperation as we equip our staff to serve you better.

George Brown
Chief Executive Officer
