Police Arrest and Charge 68 Year Old for Theft

The Royal Anguilla Police Force on Saturday 2nd January arrested and charged a 68 year old female from North Hill for Theft.

The offender was arrested as a result of an investigation into a report of a stolen bicycle made to the police on the said date. The investigation into the report revealed that the offender visited the property of the complainant on Monday 28th December, 2015 around 11:30 am and later left with the bicycle valued at US $500.00. On arrest the offender took to police to her home where she handed over the said bicycle to them.
When the offender appeared before the Magistrate’s Court on Monday 4th January, 2016 she pled guilty to the offence of theft and was fined EC $2, 000.00 to be paid by the 4th January, 2016 or spend 2 months in prison.

She was also ordered by the court to compensate the owner of the bicycle for the said bicycle.
