This comes on the back of the Treasury’s report, received last evening 12th January, which revealed actual revenue collected by Customs amounting to 5.6 million dollars over the projected target.

Mr. Carty who completes his first year in office this week as Comptroller of Customs, found it fitting to celebrate the team’s achievement with the public for an overall job well done.

He stated that it had been a challenging first year in his new role, but with such a great team it made it that much easier. And he appreciated the continuous efforts of his team for not only achieving, but exceeding, the Government of Anguilla’s annual revenue target for the Customs Department.
Mr. Carty further stated that 2016 would be a year for further team building through training and development. He hope to improve information exchange and enhance both private and public sector relations for the coming year.

When asked about being new in his role, and the challenges faced, Mr. Carty stated, “it was important to stay focused on the tasks at hand, and to be innovative to do a lot with a little,” and thanked his team for a successful year.
