New York, NY, January 11, 2016….The Anguilla Tourist Board featured prominently at the recent New York Times Travel Show, held at the Jacob Javits Center in New York City from January 8 – 10, 2016. The show attracts over 28,000 travelers and industry professional attendees each year.
Representatives from three leading Anguillian resorts joined the ATB North American team at the show – Daphne Warner, from Carimar Beach Club, Susan Coulton from Frangipani Beach Resort, and Sakari Malinen, from the new Zemi Beach House Resort and Spa. An added attraction at the ATB booth was the presence of two models in swimwear, Francesco and Hollis, who delighted attendees by posing with them for “selfies” in front of the stunning beach backdrop, and made Anguilla one of the most popular locations at the show.
The ATB also participated in the “Focus on the Caribbean” round table series sponsored by the Caribbean Tourism Organization (CTO), part of the comprehensive education program designed for travel professionals attending the show. ATB North America representative Alison Ross delivered a short sales presentation on Anguilla, and invited the agents to visit the ATB booth to learn more about the destination.
Christina Racek, Team Leader at Liberty Travel in Bedminster, New Jersey, was the lucky winner of a 3 night, 4 day stay at the brand new Zemi Beach House Resort & Spa, in a trip giveaway courtesy of the hotel for travel professionals attending the show.
“We are delighted with the high degree of interest in Anguilla from the trade, the media and from consumer attendees at the show,” said Noel Mignott, President and CEO of the PM Group. “We are very encouraged by the enthusiastic response to Anguilla, and our hotel partners also report receiving several genuine inquiries which may result in additional business over the course of this year.”
The New York Times Travel Show is the pre-eminent travel forum in the northeast, with over 500 exhibitors, 150 travel industry speakers and over 100 cultural stages during the 3 day period.
